Storytelling
In this section I will be looking at three types of storytelling/audio book readings. Children's books, Educational Books and Novels. I will look at the different elements each books needs based on it's target audience and genre.
Storytelling in Audio Acting is something that can be seen across all elements to some extent, as when you take on a character you are becoming them and in some sense telling their story. When looking at stories it will be important to consider, it's genre, the age of the characters within the book, if character specific then your characters age, the relationship between characters and the purpose of what they are doing.
Gender is also something to consider, when just starting out I would recommend sticking to your gender however it has been noted that in animation and possibly in audio books a female may voice a male character such as Nancy Cartwright voice of Bart Simpson, or Veronica Taylor voice of Ash Ketchum (1998-2006).
This usually only happens in the event the character is a young boy, as I will be demonstrating in one of my own audio files for this section.
